Xi´an (China) 17th April - Leading global solar technology company LONGi has been certified as a Future-Fit Engaged Business by the Future-Fit Foundation, a UK non-profit dedicated to promoting and stewarding the “Future-Fit Business Benchmark” for advancing sustainable business practices.
In its quest to become the most sustainable solar PV manufacturer globally, LONGi selected the Future-Fit Business Benchmark to measure and assess its progress with the Benchmark’s 23 Break-Even Goals. The choice reflects LONGi’s commitment to bolstering its technical innovation, aligning sustainability objectives across its business value chain, and acknowledging the fundamental significance of the SDGs to the company's mission.
Aiming to ensure that all energy the company consumes – including electricity, heat, and fuel – originates from renewable sources, LONGi has prioritized Goal BE01. Electricity constitutes the company's primary energy source, accounting for over 98% of its energy mix. The manufacturer is continuously increasing its efforts to raise the proportion of renewable electricity within its energy consumption.
Already by 2022, nearly half (47.18%) of LONGi's renewable electricity was either procured through power trading markets or generated onsite through distributed facilities. The company is dedicated to achieving 100% renewable electricity usage by 2028 and is actively participating in the RE100 initiative. As a Future-Fit Engaged Business entity, LONGi will meticulously monitor and report its progress on an annual basis.
