LONGi to supply its high-efficiency modules for Ningbo Green Light Energy upcoming solar project at Lyari General Hospital

Global News

Power outages, including extended power cuts, are common across Pakistan; hospitals, thus invest into expensive inverters and DG sets for backup. But these so-called solutions present their own problems in terms of the smoke and waste that they create, which are both a health risk and contribute greatly to air pollution, making fossil fuels-based energy generating solutions both, expensive and risky. Irrespective of the kinds of systems hospitals might have in place, the best way to guarantee constant clean power is having a reliable, long term, solar power-generating unit that is installed, operated, and located ideally within the hospital’s compound.

With this ideology, Karachi’s Lyari Hospital has decided to set up a 789.36 kW solar project within its premises and has contracted Ningbo Green Light Energy, which specializes in undertaking both domestic and international household and large scale solar thermal and PV projects, to set up this project. LONGi Solar, known for its advanced mono crystalline PERC technology, has been selected as the module supplier for the project.

Lyari Hospital’s decision to adopt solar solutions is a step in the right direction and will not just help it reduce carbon footprint but also reduce electricity expenses.

The foundation has already been laid and according to Ningbo, 50 kWp of project has already been completed. When fully functional, the entire plant is estimated to produce 1,223,000 units of electricity per annum, resulting in 346 tonnes of CO2 reduction per year. Lyari Hospital would be able to save approximately 80 per cent in its electricity bill by switching to this solar project.

LONGi has been the preferred partner for the project given its widespread experience of working in Pakistan across a range of solar projects – utility-scale, grid-connected rooftop and solar-powered water pumps. It has worked with all top project developers in the country with repeat orders. Across the portfolio of projects where LONGi modules have been installed, end users have been successful in reducing their electricity bills significantly.

LONGi’s high-efficiency modules, which are based on leading technology, and the company’s strong bankability are the perfect solution for residential and commercial spaces looking for viable alternatives. LONGi recently achieved the highest Altman-Z score in BloombergNEF’s Global PV Outlook, and was also given the highest AAA rating by the technical media organization PVTech. Numerous top rankings in the solar industry and a strong operating performance in 2019 and H1 2020 have underlined LONGi’s worldwide bankability.
