LONGi has once again received recognition at the 2021 edition of the TÜV Rheinland “All Quality Matters” Solar Congress, with its Hi-MO 4 and Hi-MO 5 high-efficiency modules winning awards for PV Module Outdoor Energy Yield (Monofacial Group) and PV Module Energy Yield Simulation (Bifacial monocrystalline group) respectively.

Highly regarded by the industry for its objective evaluation process and authoritative selection mechanism, the AQM award has become a competitive stage for companies in the PV industry.

Energy yield simulation is assessed on the basis of samples randomly selected from mass-produced modules, with performance tested and energy yield simulated under different environmental conditions across numerous countries.

LONGi has now won awards for Energy Yield Simulation in 2017 and 2018, Outdoor Energy Yield in 2019, and Outdoor Energy Yield (Monofacial Group + Bifacial Group) in 2020.

At the Congress, Dennis She, Senior Vice President at LONGi Solar, was invited to participate in a roundtable discussion on the opportunities and challenges faced by the PV industry in contributing to China’s goal of reducing carbon dioxide emissions before 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality before 2060. In the case of carbon neutrality, the accelerator button has been pressed for the development of new energy and the transformation of energy structure. Facing the challenges presented to the PV industry in terms of capacity expansion, She said that LONGi will continue to develop its product leadership strategy, keep investing in R&D and turn high-value research results into mass production, so as to contribute to the carbon neutrality target.

With LONGi leading the industry’s development with its innovative breakthrough technologies, its Hi-MO series modules continue to break efficiency barriers and accelerate the ongoing reduction of LCOE, the company achieving record shipments of 24.53GW in 2020.

She added that the PV industry should work in unison to improve the efficiency and reliability of products, enhancing the value gain of the whole life cycle of the power plant system and linking the entire industry chain, standardizing products and enhancing resource supply and deployment capacity in order to promote the comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development of clean energy.

About LONGi

LONGi, founded in 2000, is a world leading solar technology organization. The company has had a long-term, unswerving commitment to monocrystalline technology, convinced, rightly, that its general adoption would bring about significant technological change for the whole PV industry.

With 15 manufacturing bases and more than 30 branches around the world, LONGi produces monocrystalline silicon wafers and modules, delivering solutions for distributed and ground mount power station systems, promoting the development of the global PV industry and driving energy transformation. The company’s shipments have been among the industry’s highest for a number of years and, in 2020, it became the first manufacturer to ship more than 20GW of modules in a year.

LONGi’s ongoing high investment in R&D is a significant contributory factor in its success and the company has been rapidly applying new technologies and processes to large-scale production, making important advances in cost control and efficient product innovation.

In 2020, LONGi became the first Chinese solar energy company to join the RE100, EV100 and EP100 initiatives, set up to promote zero-carbon solar and sustainable development.
