Distributed photovoltaic power generation system for impoverished communities in Babilonia, Brazil

The Babilonia impoverished community in the southern district of Rio de Janeiro is an marginalized area of the big city. The public facilities are not perfect, and there are problems with the most basic water and power supply. Since 2021, Brazilian non-profit organization Revolusolar has partnered with LONGi to provide technical and product support for energy equity in impoverished communities. The Babilonia Slum Community is Revolusolar's first solar energy collaboration project in impoverished communities in Brazil, where local residents participate in the installation of solar facilities. They not only receive training on solar facility installation, but also take responsibility for its use and maintenance. This project reduced the average electricity bill for residents by nearly 40%, lowering their electricity costs, and created employment opportunities.
