Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic — LONGi, a global leader in solar technology, participated as the module supplier for Cotoperí Solar, the largest photovoltaic complex in Central America and the Caribbean, recently inaugurated in Guaymate (La Romana). The project, developed by ACCIONA Energía as the majority partner, together with Cotosolar Holding —which includes the JMMB Sustainable Energy Fund (FES), managed by JMMB Funds, Grupo País and other minority investors— has an installed capacity of 162.6 MWp and is fully equipped with LONGi’s high-performance Hi-MO 7 modules.

Comprised of three solar plants, Cotoperí Solar will generate approximately 286 GWh of clean energy annually, making a decisive contribution to strengthening the Dominican Republic’s energy matrix and avoiding the emission of more than 210,000 tons of CO₂, equivalent to planting over 5.5 million trees. The selection of LONGi’s Hi-MO 7 technology ensures superior performance in tropical climates, offering higher efficiency, lower degradation and optimal energy yield throughout the system’s lifespan.
LONGi’s participation in this project further consolidates its leadership in the Dominican Republic with its cutting-edge Hi-MO 7 and Hi-MO 9 technologies for utility-scale projects, driving their adoption across the country. “For LONGi, it is an honor to contribute to the Dominican Republic’s energy development through landmark projects such as Cotoperí Solar, which represent the path toward a more sustainable and resilient future,” said Bruce Zhu, President of LONGi LATAM.
In addition to its environmental contribution, the construction of Cotoperí Solar generated more than 600 direct and indirect jobs, boosting the local economy and promoting skills development within surrounding communities. The project also incorporates a series of social initiatives focused on technical training, support for local entrepreneurship, road safety and programs to improve access to water and sanitation that will benefit more than 4,500 people.
For LONGi, this collaboration reaffirms its commitment to supporting global partners in the deployment of reliable, efficient and internationally compliant renewable energy infrastructure, while promoting sustainable growth throughout the Caribbean and Latin America.
