Qinghai Province, located in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, has high solar irradiance and long sunshine hours - favorable conditions for PV. In March 2018, the National Energy Administration approved Qinghai as a demonstration province for national clean energy. LONGi was selected as the supplier for 200MW high efficiency solar modules to Haixi State Multi-energy Complementary Integration and Optimization Optimized National Demonstration Project which will be developed by the Luneng Group.

The project in Geermu, Haixi Prefecture, will have a total installed capacity of 700,000kW with 200,000kW in PV, 400,000kW in wind and 50,000kW solar thermal. A 50,000kWh energy storage system will complement the project.
This is the first project in China’s first batch of multi-energy scientific and technological innovation project. On completion, it will produce about 1.262 billion kWh a year, saving 401,500 tons of coal every year and effectively reduce coal consumption and air pollution.

On December 29, 2017, the initial 600,000kW PV and wind power were connected to the national grid, a new record for domestic new energy construction. The project will promote 100% clean energy in Qinghai, optimize the regional energy structure and accelerate the construction of a sustainable ecosystem.

The Luneng Group, developer of the 200,000Kw photovoltaic project selected LONGi monocrystalline silicon PV modules above 290Wp. 10,000kW was mounted on a flat single-axis tracking system( another 10,000kW deployed fixed adjustable bracket and the balance 180,000 kW adopted a fixed array. The power station has a total of 113 sub-stations.

“LONGi global vision is to use clean energy to produce clean energy products. We are committed to achieving 100% clean energy self-consumption by 2050.” said Dennis She, Vice President of LONGi Solar. “As a driver in the energy transformation, LONGi hopes to bring high quality solar products and affordable clean electricity to sustainable developments globally and contribute to China’s goal of "Blue water and green mountains are golden mountains and silver mountains.”
