Johannesburg, 27th of March 2025 – From March 25 to 27, Solar & Storage Live Africa 2025 was held at the NASREC in Johannesburg. As the premier annual event for the African energy sector, the exhibition attracted numerous global energy companies.
LONGi made a standout appearance with the theme "Lighting Up a Green Africa Together", showcasing its Hi-MO X10 series — a high-value PV module tailored for various distributed scenarios. The company also signed several strategic agreements with local partners, injecting new momentum into its market expansion efforts and highlighting the strong growth potential of Chinese PV enterprises in Africa.

Hi-MO X10 Takes Center Stage
At the event, LONGi unveiled its latest Hi-MO X10 modules, including both monofacial and bifacial models, as well as anti-dust one. With advantages in efficiency, performance, aesthetics, and safety, the Hi-MO X10 series quickly drew strong interest from attendees and became a crowd favorite.
A dedicated demonstration zone was set up to simulate partial shading from rooftop pipelines or dust buildup. Visitors were able to experience the differences first-hand, comparing the power generation stability of Hi-MO X10 modules versus mainstream conventional TOPCon modules.
Many customers remarked that LONGi was the only exhibitor offering modules with shading and dust resistance features. After witnessing these innovations in person, numerous visitors expressed excitement and strong intent to purchase and install LONGi modules in future projects.
555MW Framework Agreement Signed — A Milestone Achievement
During the event, LONGi signed a total of 555MW in Hi-MO X10 supply framework agreements with leading distributors and EPC companies across the region. This milestone reflects the deep trust customers place in LONGi’s product quality and brand value.
To address key concerns around power yield and reliability, LONGi’s Africa team conducted detailed product briefings, highlighting the core strengths of the Hi-MO X10.
As a next-generation distributed module built on HPBC 2.0 cell technology, the Hi-MO X10 reaches a maximum mass production power output of 670W — over 30W higher than mainstream TOPCon modules of the same size. With a peak efficiency of up to 24.8%, it maximizes energy generation from limited installation space, significantly improving ROI for customers.
To eliminate risks from shading, Hi-MO X10 adopts a unique bypass diode structure that reduces power loss and prevents local overheating. Module surface temperatures can be reduced by over 28°C compared to conventional cells, ensuring safe rooftop operation even in extreme heat. These high-performance, reliable modules deliver maximum energy yield and lifetime value even in challenging conditions.
During the technical forum, LONGi’s experts engaged in in-depth discussions with EPCs, distributors, and installers from across Africa, exploring the technical leadership and vast application potential of Hi-MO X10.
Value-Driven Innovation Recognized Across the Value Chain
At the exhibition, LONGi demonstrated detailed value simulations for Hi-MO X10 and shared successful project use cases, earning widespread recognition from stakeholders across the solar value chain.
In the "Africa Solar Talk" forum, a live broadcast event hosted by LONGi, EPCs, distributors, installers, and end-users gathered to discuss industry pain points and explore the four standout features of Hi-MO X10: High Efficiency, High Return, Sleek Aesthetics, and Enhanced Safety. Guests also shared success stories from their collaborations with LONGi, further underscoring the company’s leadership in driving the global energy transition.
As Sun Xianming, Head of LONGi Africa, noted: "In Africa, solar is not an alternative — it's a necessity."
Hi-MO X10 is designed to provide clean, efficient, and affordable energy for homes, businesses, and industries. Sun added, “The 555MW memorandum of understanding signed with our partners not only reflects their confidence in LONGi’s technological capabilities and market leadership — it also marks a major step toward the large-scale adoption of solar energy across Africa.”
